  • Get to know one another, introduction to Centered

Week 2: Stress, Anxiety, and Everything in Between

  • Heart check in; introduction to stress and its effects

Week 3: Body, Mind, Heart

  • Heart check in; discussion on the effects of stress/anxiety; introduction to deep breathing

Week 4: Body

  • Heart check in; discussion on the physical effects of stress and the biology of stress; deep breathing, stretching, and relaxation techniques

Week 5: Mind

  • Heart check in; discussion on how thoughts affect stress/feelings and how feelings/stress can affect thoughts; mindful prayer and awareness exercise (noticing and lifting up); art exercise

Week 6: Heart

  • Heart check in; discussion on feelings and how to manage/soothe emotions; art exercise

Week 7: Relationships

  • Heart check in; discussion on how the external world affects the internal and how the internal world affects the external; relationships with friends, family, and self; creative writing exercise

Week 8: Bringing it All Together

  • Heart check in; reflection of the past 8 weeks; goodbyes and well wishes

 

*Heart check-ins are a time for you to reflect and check in with yourself; this time may entail journaling, drawing, listening to music, etc.
